Request for Installation of Two Free Korean Fonts in Shapediver

Dear ShapeDiver Team,

I hope this message finds you well.

I am currently developing a configurator in which end users input their own text, which is subsequently converted into geometry. As the text is generated dynamically based on user input, the corresponding fonts must be available on the shared server. I would therefore like to kindly request that the following two freely available Korean fonts be added to the Rhino 7 shared system:

1. SF망고빙수 (SF_IceMango)

  • Designer: Noonseori (눈서리)
  • License: Free for both personal and commercial use; modification and redistribution are permitted, with the sole restriction being the resale of the font file itself.
  • Source: 활자 깎는 노인 : 네이버 블로그

2. 고산자 (Gosanja)

  • Publisher: National Geographic Information Institute (국토정보플랫폼) in collaboration with Sandoll
  • License: Free for both personal and commercial use; distributed as a public font without usage restrictions.
  • Source: http://map.ngii.go.kr/mi/emapMain/emapIntro01.do

Both fonts are freely available, and their licenses permit unrestricted public use. I would be grateful if you could review the respective licenses and, should everything be in order, proceed with adding them to the shared server.

Hello,

I am experiencing an upload timeout error when trying to upload a Grasshopper file that uses Korean fonts.

  • Error Message: “The checking process for your model timed out for an unknown reason.”

  • Model uuid: a244efe5-e6ba-432a-9839-1e8e7359cba0

  • Model guid: c21e38b5-f397-432c-a1d4-9671efde478c

Details:

  • The upload works perfectly fine without any issues when I use standard default Windows fonts (like malgum_Korean gothic).

  • The timeout error only occurs when I apply the specific 2 Korean fonts to the Grasshopper file. It seems like the system is having trouble processing or rendering the specific Korean font files during the verification step.

Could you please help me resolve this font compatibility/timeout issue?

I created a minimal example using both fonts:

I confirmed the model works properly in Rhino

Howerver, the same issue occurs when i upload the GH file to ShapeDiver.

If I use standard Windows system fonts, the file uploads successfully and works fine.

I suspect some characters in the requested Korean fonts might have self-intersecting curves. Could this be causing the issue?

Should I try using a different Korean font that doesn’t have any self-intersecting curves?

As I mentioned in my message above, I could create a model with those fonts and upload it to ShapeDiver without issues. If you are still having trouble uploading, it would help if you could create a minimal definition that I can test and reproduce the problem with. Could you share such a definition?
