Repair Rhino vs uninstall/ reinstall

I see this pop up on tech support quite a bit, someone calls and says, “Rhino is broken, I’ve done everything, I’ve even uninstalled and reinstalled it several times, it’s still broken.”

that’s because you may be just re-breaking it.

uninstall reinstall does not address what is often the root of rhino misbehaving which is the .net framework, a screwed up registry or the vc runtime c++ components that we get from microsoft.

what you want to do is go to add remove programs, go to the three dot menu on the right side and click **Modify >Repair
**
Let Rhino do it’s thing and then it’s typically a good idea to restart, even if you are not prompted. (registry changes typically need a restart)

This will often get Rhino back on its feet, when a uninstall/ reinstall cycle will not.
