I work on a lot of alterations, and want to know the best way to have existing and new elements, that you can show and hide depending on the sheet. Is there a way to do this similar to Revit? I expect that you would create issues overlaying 2 different Buildings on top of one another, with awkward junctions and errors.

Is this possible, or is it better to create 2 different 3D models, one existing, one new and treat it like you would AutoCad?

It’s pretty simple actually. All you need to duplicate is your layer structure.

Create three base layers like:

  • existing
  • removed
  • new

Then duplicate your normal layer structure into each base layer and sort your objects accordingly.
