Rendering / Quality Issues

Hello! I am having issues with all of my views where it is not displaying / rendering correctly. I have restored my settings to default and updated my card drivers.

Some other things I noticed is that when I do a ViewCapturetoFile the image is just transparent and does not show anything. I have switched the graphics card through my Windows settings and restarted my laptop, but have not noticed any difference.

Shaded view:

You can see your graphics are still horribly misconfigured. Do you use some sort of docking station?

No, this is only from my laptop.

Well it seems like the drivers for your integrated video are not properly installed to allow it to pass thru the GPU….

Oh ok, what would I have to do to fix that?

What is the CPU?

It moves between 4% and 7% (if that answers your question I’m not entirely sure)

I know you said you changed the card but is this what it shows in System > Display > Graphics (but your 4080 of course)?

This is all it shows for me. I am unsure if I changed the card, I just uninstalled and then reinstalled NVIDIA and then set my preference to what it is now.

No I meant what kind of cpu is it.

The mismatch in identifying your gpu is uh interesting. You need to uninstall everything graphics related and start over.

I believe this is what you wanted to see? Also, what specifically should I uninstall, as I have already uninstalled and reinstalled NVIDIA once?

One thing I have seen recommended here frequently is that when installing an Nvidia driver the “clean install” option on the installer should be used. Did you do that? If not, it’s one more thing to try.

Strange thing that I have noticed - at night time (im not exactly sure that time) everything goes back to normal. I’ve been in shaded view doing linework for awhile and switched it to rendered view and now it appears to be working. I have noticed this has happened the last 2 nights too, and sometime during the evening it goes back to how it looks in the previous images. Not sure if this information will help with solving the issue but I think its worth mentioning.

ill give that a try

The SystemInfo seems to show there is no actual driver installed for the Intel integrated video. What brand is the laptop? Have they got some sort of update control center? Otherwise go to https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/intel-driver-support-assistant.html to get it up to date.

Check your power management settings: sounds like you could be in some kind of “economy mode” in the day time which is forcing the laptop to use the low powered Intel GPU.

Make and model of laptop would definitely be helpful.
