Rendering problems with surfaces...from TopSolid Wood to Rhino

Hello everyone, i am working on a wood project, and i am doing a lot of viewing and rendering for my company. Today I got this 3D model from TopSolid in .step. The problem is that the nurbs solids of the project got all the surfaces with a differnt direction, and it’s impossible for me to find how to rebuild, or change the surface direction in order to apply a nice straight wood texture, simple and fast.

Thank you in advance guys !

I bet you could use WCS or Box mapping for all objects other than the diagonal supports which would need to be their own box map or set to surface and then rotated 90 in the UVeditor. Post a few of the objects using the Export command and I can take a look to see if my guess is correct.

Here’s a newer video on UVs in Rhino too…

Hello, box mapping is working good, I discovered the new pannel of mapping in the properties pannel !This new material, texture and mapping pannel does really help me out !! Thx

Ideally, all beams would be saved as blocks with an origin on one of the ends and directions same as the beam…
