I am having a problem that occurs every time I load up cross gems, there is an error message I see all the time.
It says missing file?
C:\Users\cadje\AppData\Local\Temp\Unpacked Files\PtStudio.hdr
So when I try to render a ring or diamond, the centre stone looks ok but any other stones are a sold brownish colour and the gold render is just a Matt blurred the makes impossible to see any definition in the piece.
On another problem the default material is plastic and not gold, it never used to be like this until the last update and I have no idea how to fix it. I have re installed the program completely and still have the same issue.
The environment file “PtStudio.hdr” is from Panther and it’s not used anymore in the CrossGems template, so probably you have set an old template from Panther.
Reinstalling the software won’t affect as this is setting is from Rhino, so to reset the template file just open Options → Files → Default
After that just reboot Rhino and all materials will look ok in rendered and ray traced modes.
