Rendered view with wallpaper in layouts

I have been preparing a set of drawings for issue, and decided to add some wallpaper to the rendered view, to make it look a bit more realistic. This works ok, but my rendered view in the layout only shows the wallpaper when the detail is selected. When the detail is de-selected, it disappears. Does the render wallpaper setting not apply within the layout space?

Here is how it appears in the detail:

Can anyone tell me where I’m going wrong?

Does placing the picture in the layout space behind the detail view work ? (never tried)

I haven’t tried putting images in layouts before, either. A quick try, it doesn’t appear to be possible to send the image to the background, so in the print you don’t really see anything other than the background.

Oh, that’s right display order can’t be set for picture… and just checked, neither for the detail views.

Sorry, I don’t have any other idea to make it possible inside Rhino.

Does anyone from McNeel have any comment?

Hi Frank- Here, the wallpaper shows if I set it in the detail view, active or not,

but indeed it does not show in the print.
