Rendered Display not working in Simple Model

Hi,

Rendered Display shows this bad shadowing effect.
I worked on this model before the update and now I am getting these awful shadowing-clipping problems where the corners of the room constantly show weird clipping.

The mode is standard default render mode as you can see in the image. I’m running the latest video driver. Perhaps there is a simple setting that can cure this? Though this never happened in the past with this model. I’m working on the inside of this room. I’ve attached the model.

In the render panel, hit reset to defaults.

that fixed it here.

or cut and paste into a new blank file

that also fixed it.

Hi @theoutside

I guess great minds think alike. Those two things are exactly the first things I tried before I posted that file. But just in case I tried it again. This file I posted is a cut and paste into another Rhino instance.
The one thing I can think of is the units might be conflicting perhaps you pasted into a meters Template?

Also I really can’t cut and paste to a new file since I’ll loose all my other objects and layer structures from the original clients file.

Anyway none of this solved the problem. I’ve attached the image of the pasted object into a new file and fresh instance of Rhino and same thing occurs.

I think Jeff messed with the shadows or self shadowing in this latest Release. Please have someone look at this, as this is a bug for me and is annoying for this project and shouldn’t be happening and wasn’t happening in the last release. Unfortunately the workarounds are not working and aren’t really the answer.

Thanks for your help and quick reply.

Hi @theoutside
I see what’s causing it even in a fresh cut and paste. Turn off ground plane and you will see the artifacts turn ground plane on and it goes away.
Must be a bug ground plane shadowing.

seeing that here too- can I share the file with the dev group?

Hi @theoutside
Yes that’s what it’s here for thanks for taking a look.
