Is there a way to use Rhino text objects in a way that it will be rendered in V-ray for Rhino?

Has this question found an answer somewhere else? I’m using latest build of Rhino 7 and V-Ray 5, but has not (yet) found a way to render (editable) text without turning the text-objects into surfaces or solids.
