Remove inherited surface UV

I had constructed a new surface by trimming the unnecessary part of the "patch"ed surface but it seems to inherit the uv based on the original surface. Is there something that i can do to make the new surface completely independent of the original one?

The original, surface is still there. You just imposed trims. Select the trimmed surface and press F10 too see it.
There is no “automagic” way to do what you described.

You could take a few section curves from the trimmed surface, appropriately clean up the curves, and make a new, untrimmed surface that is similar.

shrinktrimmedsrf and rebuild doesnt seem to work, i used the section curves of the surface as explained by John, then i worked.
