Dear all,
I have some struggles with remodeling a polysurface into one surface.
I have an 3dmodel that excists out of 2 polysurfaces, what I want is to make each one of them out of ONE surface.
I tried to work with the border curves, rebuilding them and matching them for G2 continuity. but without succes. the result (also added in the file) has weird unexplainable deformations. (see text dots)example file remodeling2.3dm (509.0 KB)
Can anyone please explain me what i am doing worng or what to do? or suggest a good tutorial.
thanks in advance!
why not just Join them together?
As I see it… the lower object and the top object exist each of 19 sub surfaces.
Bedankt voor je reactie, i guess you don’t understand the point. When joined it will be a polysurface. I want it to be a single surface.

I understand the question now.
You got 2 surfaces existing of multiple child surfaces. You want the top and lower surface seperated but the child surfaces joined for the top and lower surface.
Excuse me for the double reply, something went wrong.
Thanks for reformulating the question for me. Yeah! thats it.
THe only thing is that I wouldnt use the word ‘joined’ because the Join command connects 2 or multiple surfaces that share the an edge. And that is not what I am asking for.
Any Ideas?
Did you use Sweep2 to remake the surfaces? If so, you can control the direction of the cross sections by using AddSlash and connecting the two rails with lines that represent how you want the surface to flow…

I’ve tried the sweep2 with a couple of cross sections but there is a very sharp edge that isnt comming out as the example. But it’s worth a shot. i didnt use many cross sections though.
The other thing i tried, but is much work is project lines all over the object and then loft it. But think sweep2 is easier ^^
i will give it a try
thanks
