Relative position from reference/tracking points

Hi there,
This has been bugging me for some time. Is there a way to use reference/tracking points and then specify coords relative to this point. This would avoid having to draw any construction lines for many operations.
eg I want to draw a line that stops 30mm away from another point.

  • start drawing.
  • mouse over reference point. Tracker created.
  • enter relative offset ‘@-30,0,0’ hit enter and line is completed.

Is that a workflow that exists that has eluded my searches on the forum and docs?
If not, has anyone written a plugin to achieve this?
Shouldn’t this be a basic feature of the smart tracking system?

From my understanding of the above, you don’t need SmartTrack for this…

  • Start the Line command
  • Click the start point
  • Type 30 and Enter
  • Pull the line in the direction you want (ortho on) and click to set.

And as usual, I find the answer immediately after posting… the From command!

I also found the “Implied from” for smart tracking… which is a bit fussy but works in some situations.
