I find these container “grip dots” quite visually distracting/bloaty compared to the minimal Rhino 7 GUI. Would it be possible to hide them when “Locked Docked Containers” is turned on? Alternatively, turn them off entirely?
That does help a bit with the visual distraction, but the added padding is still there. In Rhino 7 the gripper padding goes away when Lock Docked Windows is turned on:
I misinterpreted the request and added an advanced option that may work for now. This setting may change in the future, but give it a try for now to see how you like it.
Rhino.Options.TabPanels.MouseOverGrippers
Changing this will hide the grippers at all times unless the mouse passes over them.
Cheers Steve. Just gave it a quick go and this new settings appears to hide the four dots, but not the actual gripper box/area/padding. Where in Rhino 7 the whole things disappears when “Lock Docked Windows” is enabled:
If it’s not possible to get the less bloated Rhino 7 behaviour back, perhaps making the gripper box as narrow as the old one would at least make the issue less. Also, as apparent from the video this feels like it might be (at least technically) related to this regression:
