Regenerating graphics every time

I encountered a problem with regenerating graphics even after just referencing elements in Grasshopper.
I have only one 3d view open but nonetheless, some Floor Plans need to be regenerated for whatever reason.
Unfortunately, I need to work with a big Revit file (600 MB) and I need to edit maybe even a thousand elements total. Every Grasshopper action forces regenerating graphics which takes ~5 minutes to complete. This makes the whole work impossible to complete.

This might be more of a Revit issue, but is there anything I can do to avoid it when using RiR?

Is this section view open? Does the pasting from clipboard mean anything to you here?

Navigating ‘ugly’ Revit models can be a handful. Are you in control of this file or at the mercy of a large team unwilling to make the changes to get things going smoothly again?

This section is not open, at least in my Revit instance. Can it have anything to do with the work sharing?
Also, I don’t know what “pasting from the clipboard” means in that situation.
I am not an author of this file but maybe I could make some changes to it to make it run better - given that I know what to do and it wouldn’t be a lot of work (low chances).

It can be a bit of work. Ideally you would identify the bad families (over 1.5mb), clean out .dwg/meshes from families.

Separating out disciplines is key as well. The files shouldn’t be much over 100mb if possible. These were all close to a gb before being cleaned.

PyRevit has some great wipe tools. .

These general tips are good as well.

Thanks for the tips, disciplines are separated, it’s a quite big building, there might be other issues we will take a look at.
