Refraction simulation in Grasshopper

are there any tools/plugins for Rhinoceros or Grasshopper which I can use for simulation of the refraction through various surfaces and materials?

I need to design a transparent cover with the fresnel-like structure which would dissipate the light uniformly in all directions.

The only tool I found is the Sonic plugin:

The “Bounce” command in Rhinoceros is usefull too, but it is not very flexible…

in the end I am pretty happy with the Sonic plugin. It works very well.
