Reduce mesh recalculates after Preview, why?

As title says, when I hit Preview and wait for the result and then hit OK it recalculates, even if no settings are altered. This seems like a waste of my time, so is it necessary?

Hm, I remember that this has been mentioned earlier. Not so funny when working with big meshes. Strange that they didn’t fix it.
