Rebuilding a Topographic Surface for Terracing

Hey everybody,

Working on trying to carve out some terraced depressions into a topographical surface for a landscape class that I am working on. I followed a youtube tutorial (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r0e3DJvQJ6g&t=1223s) to try and achieve it. I’ve checked my work a couple of times and can’t seem to figure out where I’m going wrong but the srfgrid at the end comes back with the error “A point in the grid is null. Fitting operation aborted.”

In addition to this error, I have two other questions:

  1. The youtube tutorial demonstrates how terraces could be built out, wondering how I might amend the script to carve terraces away instead.
  2. The topographic surface I’m using is quite large, so I subdivided it by 10 feet because when I tried 1 foot rhino and grasshopper kept crashing. Perhaps this is just too much for my machine but I also wonder if it might be contributing to the null grid point issue.

I’ve attached both the rhino and gh script, I appreciate your time and advice!
