Hello.
I tried today to import a jpg around 35 mb with a resolution of 46888 * 46888 at 96 dpi as an image, and I found that is not possible. I can import it without problem on autocad and revit as a reference. Is there a way to import it as a reference in rhino. Rhino create a surface with the image as a texture and I think this method has a limitation in resolution.
Pretty impressive resolution. 2.2 GIGApixels…
I don’t know how Rhino handles the downsampling of the image to get to screen pixels.
It’s a large area of google street map. Around 100 km length. Windows viewer has no problem to display it.
Hi -
Just wondering - can you still see details when you get that image into Revit?
(FWIW, I’ve tried to create a 46888 × 46888 bitmap but my PC keeps hanging and, in the end, Paint. Net threw a System.OutOfMemoryException and couldn’t save the image).
As far as I know, Rhino will need a little over 8.8 GB of VRAM just to show this image…

here is the image

the actual area is 14000 m * 12000 m and no 100 km as i wrote above
and here is how revit handle it.
