Context: Reverse engineering some profiles from a slightly inaccurate PDF. Tracing lines and then shifting them to precise positions with Boxedit.
Issue: Boxedit stopped updating its values when I changed from one line to another. Then showed all values as zero. Toggling from World to current cplane and back caused it to reset, but it continued to show outdated values and now also random sizes.
Eureka: The viewport started spontaneously zooming in small steps even when no user input provided. This happens occasionally as a result of spurious signalling from the wireless SpaceMouse. It can be stopped by turning the SpaceMouse off and on (although a better solution is to remove and reinsert the transceiver from the PC). So I turned off the SpaceMouse and immediately BoxEdit was back to working correctly. After restarting the SpaceMouse, BoxEdit continued to work correctly.
I think this is too nebulous to investigate at present - the chances of reproducing it are slim. But it is something to be aware of if others find BoxEdit unresponsive. I do have a wired SpaceMouse I can swap to, so over the long term I can see if the interference is device specific.
