Questions about the extend command for curves

Hello everyone,
I make industrial plans on rhino.
I’d like to know if it’s possible to give a total length to a curve using the extend command on rhino (a function found on autocad).

Thank you in advance for your answers.

Total length of the resulting curve: no. It is possible to give the extension length though, and you can calculate the length of the curve prior to extension. Subtracting the existing length from the desired length will give you the length to extend with.

An existing issue for what you want exists at https://mcneel.myjetbrains.com/youtrack/issue/RH-50578/

@Sandou_Henri here is a script that may help -

RelimitCurve.py (3.6 KB)

To use the Python script use RunPythonScript, or a macro:

_-RunPythonScript "Full path to py file inside double-quotes"

-Pascal

Just wanted to let you know that I get the following error when I try to lengthen a line with the script you provided. Shortening works great.

Message: global name ‘geo’ is not defined

Thanks, I’ll have a look.
@AMG - thanks, fixed, I think, for lines, above.
