SelLayerNumber command makes it possible to select objects by layer number. How can I quickly display layer names and numbers?

There is no native way in Rhino to do that. Possibly, this can be achieved with a script.

On top of that, if you move the layers around in the dialog or delete them, the order number no longer corresponds to the order in the list. Basically I assume it uses the numbers from the index of the layer table, which are numbered in the order they are created…
