Query Model Layer + Value Picker is freezing with a bad layer

Process:

  • blank Revit project

  • RIR 2025 WIP daily build:
    image

  • Starting a fresh GH file

  • Placing a Query Model Layer + Value Picker

After loading a 3dm file, the routine kept freezing until I sorted out and eliminated the bad layer "Parete Divisoria grigliato 2". I could not find why the layer is a bad layer. See the attached 3dm files.

By comparison

  • EleFront Reference byLayer+Value List (expanded to Checklist) kept working even with the bad layer. It seems less picky.

Poking around in the Full Layer list file i am not able to make anything freeze. Are there other steps I should be taking?

Can we get your Rhino systeminfo? I’m on a newer version of Rhino but not aware of any changes that would affect this. Thanks

Oh, that’s surprising! Could it be a localization issue? Let me recover the data about Rhino that you need, brb.

I do nothing more than what you see in the screenshot. The file is the same, the components just those two. The Revit file is a new one.
The picker is frozen, pointer spinning.
If I delete the layer, it works normally.

Lets disable this Rhino for troubleshooting

If you go to File>Properties>Updates you can a newer version of Rhino by subscribing to the Service Release Candidate

Rhino 7 is not installed anymore. The datasmith installer probably has a bug and it left a plugin in a Rhino7 old folder. I disabled it and removed as you suggested.

I then installed the SRC and voilà! the grasshopper component does not freeze anymore on that specific layer. Cool, but I’m now wondering why :smiley:
