Quartz Crystal modelling

Hi! Struggling to 3d model a physical crystal I have. I have measured all facets (18) laid the flat but struglle to build an object from them. Orient3PT and Rotate3D are limited and give little to no result because I cannot measure the angles between the facets in order to place them accordingly in space. Looking for a command that is the opposite of Unroll or Flatten. Open to suggestions

Hi not you,

If you are referring to something that guesses where all flat facets go in 3D, in the right place/angle, to construct a 3D object for which you have no digital reference, that sounds like magic. You could 3D scan your object using iRhino or other apps that tap into modern phone/iPad PRO lidar capabilities; or even better if you use a specialized tool for 3D-capturing the object.

Scanning with a phone will not go well for smaller objects, certainly not for transparent objects.

Do you have an image of the object you are trying to replicate?

Thanks, @Gijs, I must have imagined a huge crystal

Hence,

Maybe go to a metrology office with CMM

A general solution for any crystal will be hard or impossible. A specific solution for a particular crystal could be simple - it depends on the crystal. We need to know the shape of your crystal to advise. Post the model with the facets laid out and a photo of your crystal.
