QuadRemesh and ensuring horizontal split lines

I am using quadremesh and getting this weird spiral edge loop. I need a flat one for a split line (like the plane). I have tried using the straight line with both Create Edge Ring and Create Edge Loop but neither help. Using Approximate does add an edge loop that can be selected as one loop but it also isn’t flat.

This part appears symmetrical in the Z axis. If that’s the case then enabling Z Symmetry would give you that perfect edge loop similar to where your plane lies. Otherwise guide curves will be in order to try to get loops and edges where you want them.

It’s not, should have mentioned that. I know adding z symmetry adds a nice edge loop bang in the middle, but that is only suitable where symmetrical in z
