Why would quad remesh appear to run but produce a null mesh?

these are already quads. can you sketch what you’re trying to achieve
I’m trying to rebuild with more faces so I can use a Kangaroo solver.
What component is that? i was able to proceed using catmull-clark from Weaverbird.
