When I place the python node in the Grasshopper canvas i get this error message:

that’s probably an object ID number… not an error message.
you’ll need to show your code / model / gh definition in order to get more help.

My first guess would be that you do not have Rhino 5 SR12+ installed.
That is required to use the Python add-on.
