Python editor taskbar icon fuzzy

I guess this is on the radar, but the taskbar icon for the Python editor in the Beta is kinda pixellated here…

This is Windows 8.1 with a normal 1920 x 1200 rez screen

Hi Mitch - hm- I don’t get that extra, separate, item for Python here on 10… it nests behind the main Rhino icon- must be a setting some place.

-Pascal

@Helvetosaur, @pascal: This is a bug - the Python editor icon should not show up on the task bar.

Hmm, I have the task bar icon for the editor in both V5 and V6 under Windows 8.1…

– Mitch

So @dale, what happens when you minimize the editor? I much prefer it to be in the taskbar and not stuck minimized in the lower left corner as the Rhinoscript editor does now…

I agree… it is easier to work with on the task bar.

-Pascal

Hi @pascal,

So does this mean all modeless forms should do this (e.g. EditPythonScript, EditScript, Grasshopper, other)? What ever we end up doing, we should be consistent. But per Windows UI, only top-level applications should show up on the taskbar…

– Dale

Yep, good point - right at the moment, I think they should all do it that way (task bar) rather than none. I don’t know if there is a down side…

-Pascal

@pascal, can you make a YouTrack item for what tools you want to show up on the taskbar?

– Dale

RH-42764 is fixed in the latest BETA

Can I just mention that I still HATE the minimize behavior of the Python script editor and long for the V5 taskbar button…

One other good reason why the button is better - when minimizing in V6, the dang thing goes to the lower left corner on my primary (left) screen, even if Rhino and the editor are on the right (secondary) screen); whereas in V5, as a taskbar button, the button shows up on the same screen as the Rhino window at least…

–Mitch

Hi Mitch - yeah, this should have reverted, I thought, to showing the taskbar icon, V5 style.
@Helvetosaur - this should be correct in the first SR if V6 , probably quite soon after zero…
