Hi! How can I turn on the captions on grasshopper components? Just like the one circled in orange?
Thank you so much!
Hello Luciana,
There are a couple of plugins to help with this. You have to find a kind of “own way” to organize the canvas and all of it. I started about 2 years ago, and tried most of them (also sometimes forgot how they should be used
Or they do not work as exspected on my old macbook).
So I learned a couple or simple things: (NO PLUGINS NEEDED)
- I made myself a clean white panel, what I use for explanations. I stick them anywhere I want to give myself instructions, about what to do, and how it is done.
- I stopped used icons on the components. I keep forgetting what they stand for, and on the forum, the big names on components make it easy to search what component it is (for myself and others).
- to give some extra info (like what you asked for): select components, place it in a group and give the group a caption name (same as sunglasses plugin. You could make the group invisible.
- as soon a section is functioning, I clean that part, put a group around with a title (Scribble) and helps organizing in bigger blocks.
- and a few tricks to go with a wires from right to left. or vertical up/down
see images for impression. Regards, Eef
There’s also the other option to use no plugin and add your own discription with a scribble. Then group with the object if needed.
I did not set my point clear. So added the method: (NO PLUGINS NEEDED) ![]()
