I’m a Rhino 7 user, and it’s always frustrating to receive a version 8 file from clients that I can’t open. I wish Rhino offered backward compatibility—like other popular programs such as Photoshop and SketchUp—so files from the past 2–3 versions (roughly 4 years of development) could still be opened in older versions. It’s not practical to purchase a new version just to open and convert files to other formats. Asking clients to downgrade and resend is inconvenient and a waste of time.
I hope you will release an update to version 7 that enables it to open files created in higher versions.
Thank you in advance for considering this feedback—I hope it helps improve the user experience for many of us.
