Processor speeds

What do you guys think about this I’m upgrading, I was offered this
AMD Ryzen 7 2700 8-core /16 thread processor am4 3.7 GHz
Gigabyte x570 gaming x motherboard with 1 + 2 phases.

I have a Geforce GTX 1070 ti graphics card

I am modeling packaging with instore end aisle and decals on each package as well as point of sale materials. lots of models and decals, I’m experiencing long times to load, save and sometimes switching views. Freaking me out. I need my machine to be much faster.
Let me know what you guys think.
Thanks

It would help to know what you’re currently running. To know if the upgrade makes sense.

I can tell you there are things that Rhino just struggles with no matter the hardware.

My pc was originally built in 2013 just upgraded the graphics card this year.

Well those wouldn’t be massive upgrades but…sure? How about a Ryzen 9?

Do you have at least 16GB of RAM? Is your SSD near full? They can slow down dramatically once that happens.

I did a very similar upgrade path. I barely noticed a difference with Rhino and that’s with a good overclock. It made a bigger difference with everything else so I don’t regret it. I also went from 8GB to 32GB of ram. Which is cutting it close for a couple of grasshopper files I run. If you’re not having issues with crashes or capability save your money.

I do have 16 GB ram and I save all my documents on external drives.

I’m thinking the same thing.

It could be something as simple as wrong mesh settings. What is your object count and polygon count typically like?
