It is very difficult to get the latest build to install when in mainland China. I was told that this is something to do with Google being blocked, so that it is not possible to access the right page. Is this correct and is there any way around it?
Thanks . Allan.
Sounds possible. The Chinese government has locked down a lot of internet access in China because of the Hongkong situation. --Mitch
Finally, after some hundred tries, downloaded !!
I live in China and can offer some insight and advice. The internet here is closely filtered for content the govt considers inappropriate. It is not limited to Google and predates the current HK demonstrations. I use a VPN service called VyprVPN that is available for purchase at goldenfrog.com to create a virtual private network connection that allows me to get to just about any website I want, including Rhino updates. There are other VPN providers that offer similar services, and this is the most reliable way I know to ensure free access to the internet here. These services use encryption algorithms that also offer an additional layer of privacy and security.
Thanks for that, I’ll give it a try.
I know a VPN service that works great against the great firewall of China. I’ve been using http://www.sunvpn.net/stealthvpn It is fully operational from mainland China.
Thanks Isabel, I’ll give it a try.
