I’m still quite a beginner with Grasshopper and have run into some trouble with this exercise. I’d really appreciate it if someone could help me understand what’s going wrong and what I should do to get the desired result.
I’ve been trying to create a repetitive surface pattern from an object. I made a rotating base form whose surface I’d like to use as the target, as well as the base geometry for the pattern, but combining them just isn’t working the way I’d like.
When I connect my initial base geometry to the Sporph, it shifts onto the surface, but the result looks very messy. However, when I connect another geometry, which I’d actually like to project onto the surface, Grasshopper freezes, even though this geometry doesn’t seem any more complex than the first one.
I’ve attached the files and also included a sketch showing the result I’d like to achieve. It would be great if someone could shed some light on what’s happening here. Thanks in advance!
