The group content is not working well with User text key values. The pull down menu brings up a $ sign which does not allow any grouping…the only solution I have found is to leave the value as UserText and input a category with text.

the problem is with the selection of a branch of usertext within the group content.If I choose UserText in the drop down list and then choose a branch from that list such as UserText$METAL the component does not group anything .It only works if I leave the Key as UserText and input a seperate panel with METAL…maybe you have changed the content components since the examples for grouping were published. If I work with the filesgroupingandfiltering from Rhino - Grouping and Filtering Data
the component works as expected but I see that instead of the branches of UserText having a dollar sign they have square brackets.However if I choose a different branch from the drop down list it reverts to the dollar sign.
in another of the examples there is another component used which does not appear to be present in Grasshopper 1.0.0008

This is a bug only affecting macOS version.
It will be fixed on next 8.17 RC of Rhino.

thanks for letting me know…I have been going around in circles trying to figure out what is wrong…
I think this component eventually became replaced by ‘Filter Content’ component.
oh, so you now plug all the rules into the filter input…
Maybe a couple of the feature pages for ver. 8 should be updated because that is where I saw that component.
Are there specific documents that are outdated? The guide I’m showing here seems to have the correct version of the components. And I can’t find any guides that show the component you showed that include the “rule” input. Are you using the latest version of Rhino/GH?
