Print "Curve Preview" to PDF Error

There is a persisting problem I’m having when printing a GH Polylines through a “Curve Previewer” + Line weight as vector PDF. The sharp joints sometimes turn out to be all jagged.

The workaround so far is to always explode the pline before the preview. Anyone know the core cause and has a core solution?

Thanks a lot all!

Hi -

Please provide the necessary files and a step-by-step procedure to follow.

Hi Wim, thanks for taking on this. Files are attached.

So the aim of the procedure is to print out PDFs of the previews from GH. For lines and curves:

  1. I use the Custom Curve Preview component
  2. Attach a line type component to it, to define segmentation and line weight and of course a line type name.
  3. The preview at this point in the viewport looks good and exactly as I wanted to be print out.
  4. To print, Ctrl+P, with the following settings.

Crv2pdf.3dm (56.0 KB)
Crv2pdf.gh (10.2 KB)
Crv2pdf.pdf (10.5 KB)

Hope this is making things a bit clearer, let me know what you think.

Cheers!

Hi -

I see that the Rhino file was saved by Rhinoceros 8.9.
I’m not seeing the issue here on an in-house 8.15. Please update to the stable 8.13 or public release candidate of 8.14.
