Print Color for Elements

Hey Gang,

Working with elements for an electrical plan and noticed some strange behavior.

I’m drawing an electircal plan of an existing space and need to be able to differentiate between existing fixtures and proposed fixtures. I want the existing fixtures to plot black and the new fixture to plot red. I’ve created a block that inherits it’s print color from it’s Parent and a new and existing layer that respectively plot red and black. The 2D block works just fine, but I can’t seem to make it work in the element.

To make it more confusing, it’ll display as I want it to in “print preview” but will then plot as all red.

For example, notice the black fixtures plotting correctly in the layout “print preview”

But in the print dialog, everything is red:

Any guesses what’s up or how I can do this without having to duplicate every element?

Thanks!

Hi @Clayton_Muhleman can you please share a file for reference? I can just be a simplified version of it, with an Element of each layer. I can try to recreate this situation but I want to be sure that I have the same one as yours.
