Hi Japhy,
is it possible for you to send me the Rhino version 8.12?
Can i have a previous version of 8.17 please? The new version has created glitchy mouse control when selecting an object across 2 monitors
Hi Marc,
Sent.
Is this a space mouse? Have you tried other devices?
Hi Japhy. No its with regular mouse and a tablet and pen. I’ve spent all morning trying to find the route and have just installed the older version you sent me but that hasn’t solved it either. It only happens when i select an object and try to pan or rotate and only on one monitor. Have you seen anything like this before?
I’ve also just discovered it only happens when i have selected Align to View for the gumball
Hi Japhy, I also just downloaded the latest version of Rhino8 and can’t open Grasshopper at all anymore. Could you send me the version before that? Many thanks!
Can you open grasshopper via the Rhino command line with the GrasshopperLoadOneByOne command while saying no to 3rd party plugins?
Sadly that doesn’t work either, no ![]()
That is odd, have you tried repairing Rhino? go to Add or Remove programs> Rhino 8> Modify & then Repair.
Please run SystemInfo in the Rhino command and post the results. Thanks

Lets troubleshoot by removing the third party plugin
I’ve removed the Datasmith Plugin, but Grasshopper still does not open. I’ve also deleted and reinstalled Rhino 8, since Repair as you mentioned it doesn’t exist on Mac. I really appreciate your help, and will be grateful to debug it with you, however I mainly need a working software as soon as possible. Therefore I’d still be interested in the previous version before the update of the 6th of June. Many thanks!
Sent, let us know how this goes. I suspect there may be more going on that won’t be resolved with a roll back.
Hello,
I updated to version 8 SR21 and afterwards I started having problems with it. Rhino wont open at all. I`m trying to go go back to the previous version to see if this would solve the problem. Is there any way I could get the download link for the previous english version?
Thank you
Hi Nicole -
Does it start in safe mode?
If so, can you disable all 3rd party plug-ins and see if it starts in normal mode?
Sending in PM.
-wim
Hi Wim,
It opened in safe mode so I tried disabling all 3rd party plug-ins and starting it in normal mode and it still would not open.
I downloaded the previous version and it worked!
Thank you so much for sending it!
Hi Nicole -
The good thing with that is that you can continue working. The bad side, however, is that you’re stuck on 8.20 if you stop here.
Please run the Rhino SystemInfo command and copy-paste its output here.

Hi Wim,
If possible, I would like to solve the problem. Probably later on it would become a bigger problem if I can`t update.

Hi Wim,
Im sorry to ask but would it be possible to get the previous version that you sent me but the Japanese version? The same thing happened to someone in my office. Some of our computers are okay with the newer version but there are some where it doesnt work.
Thank you and I’m sorry for the trouble.
Hi Nicole -
I notice that there are no plug-ins here that are listed. Earlier you wrote that you disabled all 3rd party plug-ins, so I assume that there are some?
Why was this set to that OpenGL level on your machine?
Done.
