Possible to add geometry that has been generated outside of vis arq?

Hey everyone, complete VisArq newbie here, basic question, is it possible to add geometry that has been generated outside of vis arq and add attributes, properties, materials etc.? Or does this only work for objects that have been generated in VisArq? The reason why I am needing to do this is that we use existing 3d models of complex organic shaped walls that are not easy to recreate… Thanks heaps!

Hello @Mona5,
you can convert volumes/solids into a VA object using Wall/Walls from Solid or surfaces using Slab/From Surface.

Brilliant, thanks Bjorn!

@Mona5 in addition to turn solids into walls with the vaWallFromSolid command, you can simply assign section attributes to any Rhino geometry (to control how it will appear in plan and section views: https://youtu.be/QjE66xW-Vig?si=vUegGBtbBSlVDo_V), and assign custom parameters to it (https://youtu.be/MfuaYJrT7sM?si=cp0Ph8Tx7-AGSdBr) for quantity take-off reports or export the model to IFC.
