Poor make2d and pen (view) results for complex smooth meshes

The results for make2d and pen (display type) for complex smooth meshes is quite poor. Some angels get completely dismissed. Please see the picture attached.

can you post this mesh so we can look at it?

to be clear it’s the creases you are missing in these images, yes?
