Plywood Milling done with gh

Do you have a shot of the toolpath?

Was the gcode done with grasshopper or did you generate the 3D model using grasshopper and then used a different software to generate the gcode?

Here you can find the horizontal roughing(10mm flat mill tool) and i used very low step over for the parallel finishing (8mm ball mill 8% stepover)

no i generated the model in gh then i used rhinocam for the gcode

What finishing process do you use?

I presume you are using a very sharp ball nose cutter and then having to somehow sand this and then apply varnish or oil?

Are the white cells cut right through the plywood?

I don’t normally like CNC machined plywood but this is a very good example!

i used 8mm ball end for the finishing , but the stepover was like 10% of the diameter which took some time , for the sanding i used sanding brush and yes then i applied varnish to it , yes the white cells are cut.

Did you use the sanding brush on the CNC or a handheld tool??

no i used this that can be attached to a drill .

I will have to try these! I always just assumed they were very coarse wire brushes for stripping paint. Now I have searched for sanding brushes I can see there is a whole range of them!

yes actually they work perfectly for sanding 3d surfaces and details

Really cool use of plywood.

I am Learning Plywood relief milling arts, If you dont mind can you share the STL or Script Screenshot?
