Pdf import change line weight and colours go black

Hi V8
Import a plan from FH10 as a .pdf, comes in on ‘default’ layer.
see orange station lines, black outline of aircraft etc.
need lines a bit thicker, select line thickness for default layer, and alter to a size near base of the chart of 1.2, and all lines go black.
I wanted to alter thickness not colour.
What is going on ?
unusable.

Steve

Hi Steve,

What is FH10?

Can you provide the PDF and expectations? Thanks

Hi,
FH10 is Macromedia Freehand 10
FH number was the way Freehand was referred to. until it became MX

FH7 FH9 etc.
Far better than iIlustrator, but Adobe killed it reckoning theirs was better when they purchased Macromedia.

I expect to alter the line weight and still see orange lines, not have them turn black.
I alter weight, then turn on printPreview to see the weight, and they go black.

Full file is copyright me, so I wil try and send a bit of it.
orange lines go black when line weight altered v8 before weight done.3dm (2.1 MB)
orange lines go black when line weight altered v8.3dm (2.1 MB)

Steve

While you have the objects’ display colour set to orange you have their print colour set to “By layer” and the layer print colour is black. By turning on Print Preview you see the print colours instead of the display colours.

This has nothing to do with the lines coming from a pdf file. Rhino is just showing you what you’ve set it up to do.

Is the PDF exported directly from Freehand, or did it go through a PDF printer? Can the PDF be opened in Illustrator and/or Affinity for comparison?

Hi, pdf was exported from Freehand.

Jeremy has shown my error.
I need to alter it as suggested.
