If I want to repeat a pattern, how can I do so if my pattern can’t be cut or end in a straight horizontal line like most other patterns?
Hi @Paola_Ochoa
Welcome to the forum In order for someone to help you, we need more information then “a pattern that can’t be cut”. You need to post a file (preferably), picture, drawing etc. to give us an idea of what you are trying to achieve here. Is this a 2D, 3D or surface pattern, should it repeat both horisontally and vertically, what is the end goal (production, 3D print, graphics etc.). Take a look at this excellent post about how to best ask for help - help us help you. Although written specifically for Grasshopper, most of the points apply to general asking for help as well

It sounds like the person is asking about repeating a pattern that doesn’t have a straightforward horizontal edge. This can be a bit tricky, but there are a few techniques that might help:
- Seamless Tiling: Create a seamless tile by ensuring the edges of your pattern match up perfectly when repeated. This often involves some digital editing to make sure the pattern flows continuously.
- Offset Pattern: Use an offset technique where the pattern is shifted both horizontally and vertically. This can help in creating a more natural, continuous look.
- Mirroring: Mirror the pattern along the edges. This can help in creating a seamless repeat without a noticeable break.
- Overlap and Blend: Overlap the edges of the pattern slightly and blend them together. This can help in creating a smooth transition between repeats.
Would you like more detailed steps on any of these techniques?
