Patch Surface from Mesh

In Rhino 8, it’s possible to use a Mesh to create a surface with the Patch command. I hope this continues in the next version.

At least in this WIP version, it’s not possible.

yes, quite crazy actually. there still are quite a few things not possible with the new patch unfortunately. the new patch has some really good potential creating continuity not seen before in this tool but its failing at some essentials and missing some features, so entirely replacing it as it is currently done is quite an unjustifiable move.

what might come to your rescue being stuck with the wip, there is the command Patchold but it is now hidden and does not autocomplete anymore and one would never know about it without living in the discourse here.

I might not understand the situation, but you can select mesh edges…

Having a mesh as input is on our list to do for the new Patch command. I expect this will be possible by the time the next major version of Rhino ships. RH-88425 is the ticket for this.

RH-88425 is fixed in Rhino WIP
