Parametric Undulating Hills & Pavements

Hi there,

I’m coming from a landscape architecture background, and I am wondering if there’s a way to create a parametric VisualARQ style for undulating hills/slopes (grassy knolls) as well as associate paving over these hills.

For the hills themselves I was considering using the Roof Styles (since slabs seem to require planar curves or surfaces) but I could not seem to figure out how to do the following:

  1. Firstly adhere the model to a given undulating surface and
  2. Secondly how to parametrically modify the thickness of the surface non-uniformly (soil volume)

For the paving, I resorted to using a Railing Style but I’m wondering if there’s a way to get a slab/roof to conform to an undulating curve (that follows the topography of the hills).

I hope I am making some sense, do let me know if there’s a way.

Thanks!
Ervine

Hi @ervinelin
I recommend you to take a look at Lands Design (http://www.lands-design.com/) which provides terrain modeling tools that may suit your requests, as well as parametric path objects and fences, that adapt to the terrain relief.
Feel free to share your feedback here or at the Lands channel in Discourse: https://discourse.mcneel.com/c/plug-ins/Lands
