Painting on surfaces - Blender round-tripping

I’d like to add ageing and staining to object surfaces.
I believe the recommended method for this is to round-trip into Blender.
Can someone point to a tutorial for that?
Of course ideally it would be possible to edit the material back in Rhino and have the Blender-added marks remain superimposed, but I’m guessing there isn’t a method for that.

Hello - another approach would be to use PBR materials and possibly Substance Painter as well. There is a bit of a learning curve there… but powerful stuff.

Thanks Pascal. I dont know what PBR is…but I see it’s new and there’s a page about it.

Can anyone recommend a round-tripping workflow to Blender and back? What I’d like to do is take objects -and their textures which have been applied in Rhino - and paint aging and wear onto them. From what I can tell, this isn’t possible because the textures from Rhino won’t make the transition into another application.
