Paintbrush - Match Properties - #suggestion

Good Day,

I would like to know if it is possible to create a paintbrush style match properties,

i.e., select the reference object and then pick objects to copy/match props

That way can see the changes as I ‘paint’.

Currently we have to select the objects that we wish to modify, (tedious), and then select the reference object. Tedious because with loads of objects, one often picks the wrong element to reference from.

Would be good to have ctrl+z and ctrl+y accessible within this command, (like drawing polylines) so that can undo accidental ‘painting’.

Great if this could be implemented in R7.

Arc

hi @arcade.smith a faster way to assign materials is on the list:
RH-77272 One click material assignment for individual or sub-objects

Hello @Gijs

While this does cover materials, would like it for properties, like everything, textures, layer, print width etc.,

Essentially I want the reverse of match properties

Currently must select objects to modify, and then select to paste from.

I want to choose an object, choose which properties to copy and paint away!

Hi @arcade.smith I see I did not read your request very well. I now added:

RH-77499 Match Properties by ‘painting’

Thank you @Gijs
