Osnap problems

Is there some way when using Osnap that the cursor is not pulled all over when trying to snap onto a point without disabling all of them? it seems that was the case several updates ago. Also, on the same subject, why does the entering Osnap not work on certain shapes?

Thanks

Hi Joe -

If you are trying to snap to a point object, type pt while in a command that requires picking a point.

Could you be specific?

Hi Wim,

When I want to draw a line that starts in the middle of a tube to extend it, sometimes the osnap centers the point and sometimes it doesn’t. I can’t tell why and it doesn’t happen always and is impossible to detect.

Thanks

Hi Win, here is a part of my drawing where I wanted to extend the face of the filited cylinders but the entering point doesn’t work.

Hi Joe -
I’m afraid I can’t troubleshoot that image.
Could you perhaps export the object you are working on and post that 3dm file here?
-wim

Hi Wim,
Here is the object. It’s with the chamfered edge on the cylindrical objects that I can’t get the center.
Thanks
Joe

Thanks Joe. I see that behavior here.

So far, this seems to only be the case for some specific diameters of the cylinders…
