Osm file via elk: how to create a new object in a specific lat long of the urban drawing but using meter units

I have an urban drawing obtained from an osm file (openstreetmap). I would like to create some new 3d objects in some specific lat, long points of my map. How could I create a box or line or sphere or whatever object in a specific place (lat, long) ? I would like to create the new object with standard units (m or cm), because the scale will be related to building size,
Thanks!
M

Hello,

How about opening the OSM file with a text editor, adding a point at the reference lat long you need, then drawing the object normally in Rhino ?

Graham

Dear Graham, thank You very much. It is a good idea…yes! with this I am allowed to see my 40 points which I want to mark…but later, in those points I would like to draw for example a cilindre which will be linked with a value. Bigger value will mean higher size of the cilindre…and I would like to to this with grasshopper, just to link an excel with data that links some data values with every lat, long point…( that you very cleverly has thinked to insert via the original osm). So, I would like to draw and change the size of those “cilinders” in grasshopper, to control the size…so it is better to do that with grasshopper instead that with Rhino directly…isn’t it? What do you think? thanks in advance…

Ok yes so maybe there you can create a second osm file with just your points and use them with a second elk component as an input for’your GrassHopper components ?

There may be another plugin or component that does the same job… I don’t really use GrassHopper

yes…good idea again! and yes, I supose there is some plugin that do…but I didn’t find it…I am going to go arround it and try some possible path to reach it…Anyway, thank You very much for your time and your help!
your sincerely,
Marc
