I am attempting to OrientOnCrv; however, I do not seem to be able to select an actual base point on the object I would like to orient and copy. If I attempt to select a base point in one viewport it inevitably appears in an arbitrary location in all other viewports and nets to objects oriented OFF of the curve I would like them to be on. See image of viewport issue below. Any advise is welcome. I am using a trial version of Rhino 8 currently.
You off the Osnaps turned off. Osnaps enable snapping to objects.
Hi David-
I tried turning OSnaps off but it appears to have the same issue.
Wondering, do I need to ensure that the object to orient and the curve or surface are on the same CPlane? I attempted with the X/Y aligned for the curve/surface and the object and it appeared to work.
Thanks!
This can be caused by the Project Osnap being on. It causes the selected point to be on the Cplane in the viewport, not on the object where you click.
Turn the Project Osnap Off.
The Osnap you want to use to snap to an object (for example End, Near, Mid and Vertex Osnaps), has to be ON to snap to objects.
No.
