OffsetMultiple a large amount of complex objects

I’ve been trying to work with some bitmap files and have been finding OffsetMultiple to be a useful command, but I’ve also run into some crashing. Wondering if there’s a way to do this without crashing the system…

Hi Paul -

I’m not seeing a crash report from you.
From your first screenshot, you are selecting 37 000 (or 74 000?) objects. Are you running OffsetMultiple on all of these at the same time?
I see “Not Responding” in the title bar of the other screenshots. Is that what you are referring to as crashing? How many hours did you wait to see if Rhino finishes this task? Have you checked the Windows task manager to see if Rhino is still using the CPU? Can you post the 3dm file?

Hi Wim,

Yes, so by “crashing” I meant the system slows down, I get a “not responding” notification, so my error on the language I used. I’ve waited about an hour, and yes I am offsetting a very large amount of objects at the same time, 72,000 in this case. I’m trying to figure out whether it’s feasible to be doing this since if it takes more than an hour or so it goes from being something I can test multiple version of to something I will have to leave running at the end of the day.

Have not checked in task manager, but will have a look if I try to run again.

The file seems too large to post, unfortunately.

Best,
Paul
