Off set surface

using the off set surface command, what is the difference between / corner = round and corner = sharp ?

i think it is default to corner = round ?

Hi Warren - if you offset say a box with sharp corners, the ‘pure’ offsets of the side surfaces must be extended to form the sharp corner. Since the actual offset of an edge is a pipe, the default is to make round corners, and this also avoids extending the side surfaces, i.e. it is the more natural offset, so to speak - extending is straightforward on a box but can get very not-straightforward in other cases.

Ok, I just off set a box with both round and sharp. I get it now. I never off set solids, just planes so there’s no difference between round or sharp corners when off setting planes. Is that true ?

Yes.
